DC VA Counseling Psychotherapist, LLC, a growing psychotherapy practice specialized in relationships counseling and complex trauma conveniently located downtown in downtown Falls Church is seeking to add providers to the group (in person or Teletherapy). As a relational center our foundation is based on Attachment and person-centered theories. We are now looking for additional private practitioners who would enjoy independent private practice, lay back and welcoming environment. We are a group of like-minded colleagues where we can continue to learn and provide the latest forms of psychotherapy. We align with models that focus on systems theory, attachment, emotional-focus, EMDR, Internal Family Systems, AEDP (Accelerated Psychodynamic Psychotherapy), somatic psychotherapy, and trauma in addition to CBT. We currently need therapists with a clinical interest in any of the following: couples therapy, addictions, grief and loss, body image concerns, trauma, anxiety, depression, women’s issues, adolescents and young adults.
Therapists will be hired as independent contractors, and have the flexibility to create their own work schedule based on office availability or remote options. We are able to provide a mix of online and in person to best accommodate not only clients but therapists as well. We are also hybrid practice which means that we have a nice mix and stability of high-quality insurance as well as private pay fee for service clients. Ideal candidates are warm, open to continue learning, capable of working independently, and value the therapeutic relationship.
I will work with you to develop a flexible schedule that best meets your needs, as well as to develop and market a caseload that best reflects your interests and strengths as a clinician. It is important to me that you feel supported, with creativity, freedom, and independence to have a flexible schedule and to develop a caseload of clients that you are passionate about working with. The practice offers additional space for groups and workshops. Right now, we have a few specialties but open to more. We are looking into expansion so there are openings and different opportunities available.

Intensive Short-Term Dynamic Psychotherapist (Job Code: 1001)
|Position Description & Duties:|
|Responsible for attachment-based Intensive Short-Term Dynamic Psychotherapy (ISTDP), which requires the therapist to lead the patient’s awareness of the moment-to-moment experience of his or her emotions using emotional experiencing along with pressure to feel, challenge of defenses, and choice between feeling or defense, to help the patient recover from acute and latent trauma and repair their damaged internal working models of attachment; build a working alliance with the patient, which transforms into an unconscious therapeutic alliance; perform central curative factors, including the de-conditioning of anxiety over trauma-based emotional experiences; bring attention to the moments of feeling of the process, which activates the capacities for secure attachment; invite emotional experiencing, visualization, and verbalization of feeling to visually imagined traumatizing figures and the formerly traumatized self; complete intake assessments, maintain electronic files and documentation in compliance of corporate, state, and federal standards, including progress notes, treatment plans, linkage for case transition, and termination reports; utilize dynamic psychotherapy to perform duties; and must possess valid District of Columbia and Commonwealth of Virginia professional counselor licenses.|
Location: Falls Church, VA and multiple undetermined worksites throughout the U.S.
Salary: $150,000 per year;
Education: Master’s Degree in Counseling, Psychology, Psychology & Education, or in a related field of study (will accept equivalent foreign degree);
Experience: Two (2) years of experience in the position offered, as a Psychotherapist, as a Psychologist, or in a related occupation.
Other Requirements: Experience must include two (2) years’ use of dynamic psychotherapy; and must possess valid District of Columbia and Commonwealth of Virginia professional counselor licenses.
Will accept any suitable combination of education, training, and/or experience.
