Hello, my name is Courtney, but I go by CC. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Virginia and Maryland. I have been in the field for 8+ years, working with clients in various areas, including crisis counseling, in-home therapy, family therapy, hospitalization, and foster care. I have primarily worked with clients who have suffered from depression, anxiety, eating disorders, mood disorders, conduct disorders, couples therapy, co-occurring disorders, personality disorders, family conflict, and many more in all those fields.
I am a culturally responsive and LGBTQIA+ affirming therapist.
Therapeutic Approach:
Life can be difficult and full of challenges. Sometimes those challenges can overwhelm us and exceed our capacity to work through them on our own. My practice is focused on working with adolescents, adults and couples who need help moving past these types of life events that can keep us stuck. I incorporate family systems when needed since our environment is a big part of who we are.
I pay special attention to addressing the whole person when working through some of life’s difficulties. The mind, body, spirit and environment in which the individual lives can have a lasting impact on healing, wholeness and moving forward. Using creativity and creative approaches, I custom fit treatment to the individual. Moreover, I provide treatment his or her specific circumstances to facilitate growth and healing.
I am an eclectic counselor who believes that every client is different and deserves a unique treatment plan created together. I will work diligently alongside you, creating a treatment plan to help you reach your goals in counseling.
I also deem confidentiality most important and will always protect your rights in our counseling relationship. Seeking out counseling can often feel scary and overwhelming, and my goal is to help you feel comfortable, accepted, and cared for. Not only is it my job to help others, but it has been a passion engraved in me since I was a kid.
Other than confidentiality, I believe listening to my clients makes the most difference. The last thing a hurting person needs is another person giving them advice. I focus on listening to my clients and hearing their needs and wants. Once I have grasped the issues at hand, together, we will work on bringing you to a healthier place where you feel at peace. If you want to be heard and understood, I am the counselor for you, so go ahead, take this next step with me, and let’s begin the journey of becoming the you that you want to be!”
I foster a safe environment to promote restorative wellness, and I help to equip clients with practical tools to help them navigate healthy relationships so the life you want to pursue can be within your reach.
