Animals Help Us Heal
First responders and those in the physical and mental wellness professions often struggle with personal and vicarious trauma, compassion fatigue, career burnout and addiction. You work so hard to take care of others and face obstacles many people never do in their work or personal lives. But how do you care for yourself and when? Finding the time for self-care can seem daunting but it’s critical.
Join Rachel Wills (LPC) of DCVA Counseling and Psychotherapy and farm owners/animal rescue advocates Morgan Hayes and Kelly Davis in this unique process group. We’ll explore how animals can help us reduce stress, become more attuned to our feelings (that we sometimes don’t know we’ve been clinging to) and increase our brain’s production of feel-good chemicals. Lastly, be prepared to have fun!
***Snacks and special gifts will be provided***
