How Animals Help Us Heal: PROCESS GROUP/Half-Day Excursion
By now, everyone’s heard of Goat Yoga but have you ever wanted to just cuddle tiny goats or even hike with them? Have you ever wondered why you feel so good or calm after petting a cat, dog or other domestic animal? Do you want to learn more about the deep spiritual and mutual connection humans have had with animals throughout time? If you answered yes to any of these questions then this process group is for you! Come join us and learn more about Animal Assisted Therapy (AAT)!
Join Rachel Wills (LPC) of DCVA Counseling and Psychotherapy and farm owners/animal rescue advocates Morgan Hayes and Kelly Davis in this unique process group. We’ll explore how animals can help us reduce stress, become more attuned to our feelings (that we sometimes don’t know we’ve been clinging to) and increase our brain’s production of feel-good chemicals. Lastly, be prepared to have fun!
***Lunch and gifts will be provided ***
Please bring your own water and supplies (i.e. hat, sunblock, bug spray), wear closed-toed shoes and comfortable clothing that can get a little dirty because – – we’ll have plenty of time for cuddling adorable farm animals and even go for a walk through the woods with goats!
